6.2.1 Introduction

The RightsClaimConflictResponse (Arrow 2 in Figure 1) is the response to the RightsClaimConflictNotification message. It is expected to be sent to the music licensing company as described in Clause 5.2. The RightsClaimConflictResponse should be sent by the conflicting party or its third-party facilitator in receipt of that RightsClaimConflictNotification in response to the action identified by the music licensing company in that message.

The RightsClaimConflictResponse enables the conflicting party or its third-party facilitator to report the result of a review of the rights claim, and the changes to its claim, if any, it wishes the music licensing company to make in respect of the rights claim conflict.

The RightsClaimConflictResponse contains Records with the Cells necessary to communicate:

  1. A claim update (see Clause 6.2.2);

  1. Information about the resource(s);

  1. The conflicting parties; and

  1. The rights claim status.

 

The RightsClaimConflictResponse enables the music licensing company to carry out further investigation regarding the rights claim conflict with a view to ultimately resolving the conflict.
